HOW TO GET TO THE CITY
All the international airlines that fly
to Buenos Aires (except PLUNA) arrive at the Ministro Pistarini (Ezeiza)
International Airport of Buenos Aires, 35 Km (22 miles) from the Federal Capital (see
the map) and
connected to it by the Teniente General Ricchieri motorway (Information, Tel.
(54)(11)(4480-9538). Remember that on leaving the country a tax of $ 30,50 has
to be paid. The companies Manuel Tienda León (Av. Santa Fe 790, Tel. (54) (11)
(4315-0489) and Ecuador (Florida 1045, Tel. (54)(11) (4314-1999) offer a
half-hourly bus service between its offices in Buenos Aires and Ezeiza airport
from 04.00 to 21.00 hours. The fare is $ 10 and $ 7, and the trip takes 40
minutes. Taxis and chauffeur-driven rental cars authorized to operate at the
International Airport have a stand inside the terminal, right out of Customs and
Immigration. Prepay at the stand and they will walk you to the driver. The fixed
rate is between $ 35 and $ 38, and tips are optional (Locals give no tips to taxi cabs). Do not
take help from people standing right at the door of Immigration going “taxi,
taxi”, even if they are wearing a uniform.
If you want, we can offer you a special
service to pick you up at the airport. We will send an air-conditioned van or
taxi to pick you up. Taxis for two are US$50 and, if you give us previous
notice, we can arrange a van for more people. To
request a VIP transfer please send us the details of your flight, and the number
of people.
